Backend
Career-flow
A multi-user Spring Boot REST API that tracks job applications, interviews and flashcard decks for interview preparation in one place.
Problem
Aims to keep applications, interview rounds and study material for a job search in one system instead of scattered notes.
Highlights
- Applications move through wishlist, applied, interviewing, offer and rejected stages, with interview rounds attached to each
- Deck and flashcard management; cards carry spaced-repetition fields (easiness factor, interval, next review date)
- JWT authentication with per-user data; tests run against a real PostgreSQL through Testcontainers
Architecture and notes
A layered Spring Boot 3.5 / Java 21 backend with controller, service, repository, DTO and MapStruct mapper layers, AOP-based logging and central exception handling. The schema is managed by Flyway migrations (PostgreSQL 17), the API is documented with OpenAPI / Swagger, and unit and integration tests cover it.
